This week Broward County youth leaders completed their Good Neighbor Store (GNS) Visit/Assessment. Local youth part of the GNS program at TWO local high schools—Boyd Anderson & Blanche Ely—visited their local neighborhood stores to conduct an assessment of the store’s general environment, as well as the food, advertising, and tobacco availability and placement. With their observations and results from the store visit, youth will develop a few strategies/recommendations for the store owner to consider in order to make their store a “healthier” Good Neighbor Store that positively affects the health of their community.
