Safe Routes Broward helps ensure that the citizens’ reported safety concerns will be directed to the appropriate partner agency in order to work toward a safer, healthier Broward.
Safe Routes Broward (SRB) is for mobile and online reporting of safety issues around our neighborhoods, which then can be communicated to local government and/or decision makers. Safe Routes Broward is a non-emergency reporting system. It makes reporting an issue easy through the mobile app which uses GPS to recognize a user’s location and gives the user a menu of common safety conditions to select from and allows the user to upload pictures to accompany the requests. The mobile app can also be used for a variety of other issues such as graffiti, street maintenance, traffic lights, crosswalks, illegal parking and school signs.
Issues submitted through Safe Routes Broward will be assigned through a 5-E model which will bring representatives of all of these areas to the table to determine how best to address issues in order to work toward a safer, more livable, and healthier community. The 5-E’s include: Education, Engineering, Enforcement, Encouragement, and Evaluation. Residents can track the status of reports they or other members of the community have submitted.
