Hollywood North Beach Park got a mini-makeover on May 12 when more than 300 volunteers picked up almost 2,000 cigarette butts.
The event was organized by Keep Broward Beautiful, Broward County Solid Waste and Recycling Services, Partnering Cities, American Lung Association in partnership with Broward Regional Health Planning Council’s Transforming Our Community’s Health (TOUCH), Nativity Catholic School children, and community volunteers. A total of 712 pounds of waste was brought in from the volunteers.
TOUCH Program Director Teina Phillips was interviewed by Voxxi News during the clean up.
